This year on Canada’s birthday Gibsons will be holding its celebration at Winegarden Waterfront Park with “family style entertainment”. Canada Day in Sechelt is going to be stacked with events to satisfy everyone’s desires! Prior to the parade you can join the Sunshine Coast Lions Club on the corner of Inlet and Cowrie at 8am for a pancake breakfast. The annual parade will begin at 10:30am at the corner of Cowrie and Ocean, and travel down Cowrie to Inlet Avenue where it will then turn up Dolphin Street to finish at Dolphin and Trail. Here is a convenient map to plan your ideal viewing location!
After the parade the opening ceremonies and cake will take place at the Performance Stage (which you can locate on the map). The remainder of the day – until 5pm – will consist of music, dance, food and beer. Not a bad itinerary if we do say so ourselves. Local breweries including Persephone, Gibsons Tapworks, 101 Brewhouse + Distillery and The Bricker Cider Company will be on site to serve drinks, and local restaurants will be open for business.
From 12-4 Hackett Park will be serving up FREE family fun. There will be food, a bouncy castle, climbing wall, community booths, and even some classic cars for admiration. Check out this map to plan your route!
