For all of us at Sunshine Coast Tourism, travel is something we’re passionate about. (After all, that’s why we work in tourism.)

This week we’re celebrating National Tourism Week in Canada — a seven-day coast to coast to coast event to recognize Canada’s tourism economy and the impact it has on every community across the country.

As staff and locals, we take pride in seeking out experiences on our coast and sharing them with others. We want you to visit, experience, taste, sip and savour your way from Langdale to Lund.

During the pandemic we were told to do the exact opposite — it was like asking a bird not to sing. And of course, the impact on our tourism businesses and employees was devastating.

While we can’t celebrate the past 15 months in our industry, we can still celebrate the perseverance and resilience of our tourism operators and their employees and support them moving forward. We’re joining together with our friends at the Tourism Industry Association of BC and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada in asking all Canadians to take the 2021 Tourism Pledge to Travel in Canada

From brewers and baristas to historians and hotel owners, our local tourism operators are ready to welcome you back to the Sunshine Coast when travel is safe. Check out the video below to see a taste of what they have to share this summer.

We look forward to seeing you soon on the Sunshine Coast!
