Powell River Film Festival
February 7 - February 16
The Friends of Film Society of Powell River produces the Powell River Film Festival, an annual event each February dedicated to showcasing the finest and most current releases from Powell River, Canada, and the World.
The Powell River Film Festival, with an 18 year history, has deep connections to the film community of British Columbia. With more than 3,000 seats filled last year, the Powell River Film Festival provides an excellent opportunity to reach the local film-making community, industry professionals, and an audience with an interest in culture and community.
For 2020, we will continue to bring the best of international, Canadian, and locally produced films. The programming team at the Festival has been travelling far and wide searching out the perfect mix of films. Once you take a look, we think you’ll agree that this spectacular lineup has a little bit of something for everyone. Go directly to our Films page and watch the trailers now!
Visit the Powell River Film Festival website for more information.
Find 2020 ticket information here.
Note: We hold seats for pass and ticket holders until 10 minutes before screening, at which time available seats will be offered for sale to those in RUSH LINE.
Powell River Film Society is responsible for operating in compliance with the Motion Picture Act and Consumer Protection BC. Only registered, not-for-profit, film societies are allowed to screen films that have not been classified by Consumer Protection BC, and only members are permitted to be present at the place where a non-classified film is being exhibited.
THEREFORE: To attend a Powell River Film Festival screening (which may not have been classified by Consumer Protection BC), all attendees 18 and older must hold a valid 2020 Powell River Film Society membership card.
The membership costs only $2 (included with Festival Pass purchase) and is valid until December 31, 2020. These are available online, or in-person at the Pop-up PRFF Kiosk in TC Mall (near Coles) from 12:00 – 4:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and at the Patricia Theatre during the Festival. This fee also helps us cover the costs associated with bringing these high calibre films to our members. By joining the society, you are entitled to attend the next Annual General Meeting.
IMPORTANT: You must show your membership card at every screening. If you have forgotten your membership card, you may be asked to purchase another membership in order to be allowed into the theatre.
As a perk, you will receive five (5) FREE small popcorns through December 31, 2020; offer valid during any films screened at the Patricia Theatre when you present your 2020 membership card!
