Get Here From Vancouver & Sea to Sky

If you’re coming from Vancouver, or practically anywhere in British Columbia except Vancouver Island, here’s what you need to know:

When travelling to the Sunshine Coast by car, you must board BC Ferries.  Drive to Horseshoe Bay Terminal in West Vancouver, and purchase your ticket for the “Horseshoe Bay to Langdale” Route.  You’ll be pleased to know this is a round trip fare, so there is no need to pay when you leave the Sunshine Coast.  Ferry schedules change throughout the year, so check the schedule carefully prior to your departure.

Other important tips for travelling on BC Ferries:

  • Reservations are not required, but encouraged during peak travel times.
  • The BC Ferry FAQ page is a wealth of information, covering fares, discounts, on-board services, restrictions, & more.
  • If you’re travelling during peak season, expect it to be busy – check out our tips for turning your ferry wait into a ferry win.

You may also choose to fly to the Coast. There are regularly scheduled flights from Vancouver to Sechelt.
